Bertha Charlene Kennedy, 77, of Big Spring, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 in Big Spring, TX. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, 906 S. Gregg St., Big Spring, Texas, with Pastor Eddie Prince officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, February 21,2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring, Texas. Pallbearers will be Dusty Calk, Roberto Gonzales, Pete Chavarria, James Carson, Aaron Carson, Paul Wylie, Aycence Pesina, and John Johlie. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Henry, Austin Henry, Dennis Peterson, and Brandon Olivetti.
Charlene was born December 1,1944 in Big Spring, Texas to Charlie and Ora Huitt. She married Ralph Dennis Kennedy January 25, 1974 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Charlene graduated from Forsan High School in 1963 and traveled the world and all over Europe with her husband as he served in the United States Army. Upon retiring in July 31, 1992, Ralph and Charlene made their home in Big Spring. She worked for private home health for a number of years. Charlene really enjoyed traveling to State and National Parks, camping with her husband, shopping with her girls, loved spending time with her grandchildren, and planning fun parties and fun adventures. She loved baking cookies with her great grandchildren. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church of God. She was a Woman of God and loved serving on the board of Grace Fellowship Church and strongly desires her family to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her six daughters, Vickie Williams, Patricia Williams, Dennise Calk and husband, Dusty, Pamela Kennedy and Holly Chavarria and husband, Pete Chavarria, Kristina Williams and husband, Paul Wylie; three sister,Eva Chappel, Elaine Matthies, Brenda Duggar; Three brothers Ronnie Huitt, Roger Huitt, Rodney Huitt; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Dennis Kennedy, her parents Charlie and Ora Huitt; and a sister, Vera Darlene Reynolds.
