Cathy & I were childhood best friends since the 4th grade at Lamar Elementary. We walked to school with each other everyday. Carpooling to Alamo JH, Lee HS. It was an exciting day when she got her VW Bug!! We were really up town then. Many burgers at Burger Chef ( 15 cents) & Bob's Better Burger (25 cents). We lived close enough to walk to both, including Woolworth & Gibson's!! That was many many years ago. We lived on Louisiana, Robertson's were one block over on Michigan. We would meet on the corner of Louisiana & Powell I think, and set for hours talking about the world. We thought we could solve all the problems. : ) Craig didn't pay much attention to us as he was the "Older" brother. But, we aggravated Brad all the time. I can hear Eleanor say "Now, Cathy y"all be nice to Brad!" I have sooo many fond memories of my dear friend. We have shared our happiness and our sorrows with each other for some 58 years. My heart is broken as I say Good Bye to my precious friend. I love you, Lynda

Cathy helped me in so many ways throughout my life, it’s impossible to count them all. When I started first grade at Lamar Elementary, Cathy was in sixth grade there. The first time I walked the four blocks to school, our mom asked Cathy to go with me to show me the way. I have such a sweet memory of her holding my hand as she walked me to school. She was such a good and caring supporter of me in many, many ways then, and ever since then. This year, I was telling her on the phone about my concern about not finding Clorox wipes anywhere in Houston stores. I especially wanted them because my wife Janet was having cancer surgery in March and would be recovering at home. Cathy said she would get me some in Midland and ship them to me. She sent me nine big containers and I was so glad she did. She was very thoughtful and caring and I will really miss her.
