Catherine Foster Stump died peacefully at home on Feb. 4, 2014.Cathy was born in Clinton, Iowa, to Dr. Warren and Margaret Foster. She attended Cornell College in Iowa, and graduated from Iowa State University. It was there that she met her dear husband, Richard Stump. They were married August 28, 1954, and that’s when the love story began. They had four children who are beyond blessed to have had such phenomenal parents.Cathy was a homemaker, who created a loving home where all were welcome. She was a substitute teacher for MISD in the 1970s. Cathy tutored children at Casa de Amigos, and loved helping children ride horses through the Discovery Center. She was a dedicated servant of Trinity Presbyterian Church, and was a member of several local organizations. She loved traveling, bird watching, and to laugh with friends and family. Cathy was passionate about her friends and will be fondly remembered for her gentle and kind nature; and the ability to find good in every person every day.Her family includes daughter and son-in-law Mary and Phil Fry of Toledo, Ohio, with grandchildren Amanda Muckenthaler and Warren Fry; daughter and son-in-law Martha and Jeffrey Johnson of Austin, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Chuck and DeDee Stump of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, with granddaughters Raegan and Catherine; and daughter Ellen Stauffer of Atlanta, Georgia, with grandchildren Kenny, Will, and Margaret; and great-grandchildren Jack Muckenthaler and Atticus Stauffer. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, brother Charles Foster, and son-in-law Kenneth Stauffer.Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Midland on Saturday, February 8, at 3:00 PM.
