Carmen Santiago Herrera

Carmen Santiago Herrera, 88, of Coahoma, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Rosary services will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, March 25, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.

Carmen was born on Nov 24th, 1935 to Francisco Santiago and Maria Delgado. Carmen was raised and went to school in Roscoe, Texas.

She met and married Luis Herrera on Nov. 4th, 1951. They had 4 kids, then helped raise 10 other kids. Carmen had 22 grandkids, 41 great grandkids, and 3 great great grandkids.
Carmen worked at Coahoma ISD for many years as a custodian. Carmen enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play ball. She enjoyed playing Bingo, cooking, fishing, and embroidery.

Carmen is survived by Benjamin Herrera, George (Olivia) Herrera, Linda (Jimmy) Del Rio, and Joey (Jessica) Herrera.

Carmen was preceded in death by Francisco Santiago, Maria Delgado, and Luis Herrera.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards the SICU and Palliative floor at Covenant Health Hospital in Lubbock.
