Carl Elmer Eckert, 46, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2002, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, March 22, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. David Harp, pastor of First Baptist Church in Stanton, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Friday at Miles Cemetery, Miles, Texas. He was born on September 15, 1955 in Snyder, Texas. Carl graduated from Thorndale High School. He worked for Johnson Brother's Industrial Equipment after graduating. He moved to Howard County in 1974 and farmed in Fluvanna and in Howard County. He was a Lutheran. Carl loved people and never met a stranger. He loved country life and farm animals. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Eckert of Big Spring; three brothers, Chester Eckert, Steve Eckert and Fred Eckert all of Big Spring; one sister, Dornell King of Big Spring; a sister-in-law, Becky Eckert of Big Spring; a brother-in-law, Lanny King of Big Spring; two nephews, Wade Eckert and Kyle Eckert both of Big Spring; and five nieces, Melanie Berrera, Rachel Eckert, Amanda King and Andrea King all of Big Spring and Karla King of Midland. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
