Callie A. Mutters

Callie A. Mutters, 87, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, May 16, 2004, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at Mt Olive Memorial Park with Dr. Howard Hornsby, officiating.She was born on February 3, 1917, in Rochelle, Texas and married James Turner Mutters on November 4, 1937 in LaPryor, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1999.Mrs. Mutters had lived in Missouri, LaPryor, Pleasanton and Kentucky before moving to Big Spring in 1994. She was a stay at home "Mom", who enjoyed painting, sewing and crafts. She especially enjoyed teaching her grandchildren to crochet. She was a Baptist.Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, James Alvin Mutters of Goodrich and H. Frank and Dorothy Mutters of Tryon, Oklahoma; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lorena L. and Larry McWhorter of Big Spring and Mary Grace Hobbs of Sterling, Oklahoma; two sisters, Lula Leigh of Edna and Dorothy Futschik of Pasadena; one brother, Allen Hibdon of Denton; 19 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry Allen; one brother; four sisters and one great grandson, Nicholas.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
