C. Josh Sullivan, 59, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, April 20, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, April 24, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Pat Ray, minister of Prairie View Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.He was born on August 25, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas.Josh was a lifelong resident of Howard County. He worked for the postal service for 20 years, retiring in August of 2005. He was very active with the Howard County Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the United States Navy in the Marine Recon Unit as a corpsman during the Viet Nam War. Josh was a Christian serving in the Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, model railroading and telling jokes.Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and John Dennis of San Antonio, and Christa and Michael James of San Angelo; three brothers, Tommy Sullivan and wife, Valarie, Robert "Bo" Sullivan and wife, Ila , and William "Pepper" Sullivan all of Big Spring; three sisters, Lou Pardy and husband, Doug of Yorktown Heights, New York, Claudia Turner and husband, Gilbert of Tyler, and Gwen Ray and husband, Pat of Big Spring; three grandchildren, Jesse Dennis, Amber James , and Jacob James. He was preceded in death by his parents, Caleb Joshua Sullivan, Sr. and Jean Sullivan; one son, Marc Christopher Sullivan; and two granddaughters, Hope and Megan Faith.The family suggests memorials be made to the Howard County VFD, PO Box 2877, Big Spring, Texas 79721.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
