Brenda McCormick, 30, of Stanton, died on Saturday, April 24, 2010, in Stanton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 30, 2010 at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton with Rev. David Harp, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.She was born on April 27, 1979, in Big Spring, Texas.Brenda grew up in Big Spring, attending Big Spring schools and moved to Stanton in 2000.Survivors include two daughters, Kenna and Kate Lynn of Big Spring; her parents, Bobby and Janie McCormick of Big Spring; and one sister, Julie Atkinson and husband, Deno of Hobbs, New Mexico and their children, Cody, Spencer and Nelson.She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Marilyn Carr; and he maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Tuffy Hubbard.Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton. I grew up in Stanton knowing Bobby and Janie as we lived in Midland becoming close friends. My heart goes out to you & your family. I know we will all go on a fantastic journey one of these days from physical to Spiritual LIFE as we know Jesus as our personal Savior. Romans 10:9&10 is our motto in life and we will see each other again in Jesus Name. As we hurt I pray this gives you peace and comfort. Love Eva

Brenda was one of the most awesome people I was fortunate to know growing up in Big Spring. Like other BSHS Class of 1997 Alumni, I was blessed to have her as a fellow classmate starting at Washington Elemantary, then going over to Goliad Middle School, next Runnels Junior High, and of course Big Spring High School. You will be missed and never forgotten!

Brenda had light in her eyes and a beautiful smile that I will never forget! Love and prayers to your family. We have lost a great mother, sister and friend. My thoughts are will you all.

Very sorry to read of the passing of your dear loved one Brenda . She was so young with so much more to give in life. It seems that life is such a precious gift and yet so short-lived for the time we exist. God holds out a wonderful hope for all those in the grave. At John 11:25 Jesus said "I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. HE THAT EXERCIES FAITH IN ME, EVEN THOUGH HE DIES, WILL COME TO LIFE." There are nine account of ones who were resurrected. That act is a guarantee that the resurrection of others is possible. God can bring back the billions of dead people he holds within his perfect memory.
