Brenda Gail Hale, of Midland, went to her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 2, 2017 after losing her battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at Stonegate Fellowship, Building F, 6000 West Wadley, Midland, Texas on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Russ Hale officiating.Brenda was born on October 28, 1955 to Hessel Isaac Smithey and Ruedell Muesse Smithey in McClennan, Texas. In 1974, she graduated from Waco La Vega High School in Waco, Texas, and then graduated with a nursing degree from McLennan Community College. She married Michael Ray Hale in 1975. Mike and Brenda enjoyed spending time with friends, riding motorcycles, and fishing at Lake Waco. Brenda’s joy was taking care of children during her nursing career. She worked as a critical child nurse through home care, and later on in life, took care of children at a local daycare. She had a love for animals, and cherished the time spent with her cat, Tiger.Brenda’s family was most important to her. She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Bradley, of Odessa and a son, Michael and his wife, Heather, of Midland. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Travis, Sean, and Keira Oliver, of Odessa, brothers, Craig Smithey, of Bellmead, Texas and Rodney Smithey and his wife, Jackie, of Missouri, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Ray (2007), and her parents, Hessel and Ruedell Smithey. The family would like to thank Home Hospice of Midland and Interim Healthcare of Bellmead, Texas for the care and attention that was given to Brenda during her illness.In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations in Brenda’s memory to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Wounded Warrior Project, P.
