Bonnie Marie Cofer, 88, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015, surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.Bonnie was born January 4, 1927 in Mexia, Texas, but grew up in Van, Texas. She met her husband Oliver Cofer, Jr. at North Texas University in Denton in 1945. After they married, they moved to Big Spring when Oliver took a job at the Big Spring Daily Herald in 1947. He preceded her in death after 66 years of marriage in 2011.Bonnie was a homemaker that devoted her life to taking care of her family. She was involved in the PTA, book clubs, the Does, and First Baptist Church of Big Spring.Bonnie and Oliver move to North Richland Hills, Texas after his retirement in 2002.Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Cofer Trostle and husband, Wade of North Richland Hills; her daughter-in-law, Dana Cofer of Hurst, Texas; a grandson, David Trostle of North Richland Hills; a granddaughter, Katherine Trostle Lack and husband Matt; two great granddaughters, Nina and Sierra Lack of North Richland Hills; a brother-in-law, Ken Cofer and wife, Pat of Florida, and three nieces.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Steve Cofer in 2014.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harwood Terrace Baptist Church, 3420 Brown Trail, Bedford, Texas 76021.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
