Bonnie A. Logsdon, 97, passed away peacefully from this earth on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 surrounded by family. Funeral services will be Monday, June 7 at 2pm at Coahoma Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2pm on Monday, June 7 at the Coahoma Church of Christ auditorium.
She was born September 13, 1923 in Clairemont, Texas to Dennis and Lillie Ethridge. She was one of 8 children. She married Bill Logsdon November 7, 1940 in Post, Texas. She graduated from Howard College in 1967 with her nursing degree. After graduation, Bonnie went to work for SMMC. A few of her granddaughters were proud to follow in her footsteps and also became nurses.
Bonnie loved to garden, sew and read. She was an excellent cook and made the best banana pudding. She often spent her time watching Seinfeld and Golden Girls. One of her all-time favorite movies was Three Men and a Baby.
She loved God and devoted her life to her Christian faith. She never missed a Sunday or Wednesday at church if she could help it and knew every hymn by heart. One of her favorite things every summer was taking her grands to VBS at Coahoma Church of Christ. Bonnie loved her family and friends with a passion. She had the most nurturing, forgiving and kind spirit. She raised many children throughout her lifetime without hesitation. Her proudest achievement was her family. And if you ever went to see Bonnie, you did not leave without hearing “I’m so proud you came!”
She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Alexander and her husband Jeff (Robert) Alexander; her son Ricky Logsdon and wife Debbie, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Bill Logsdon; her parents, Dennis and Lillie Ethridge; 2 sons, Rodney Logsdon and Mike Logsdon; 2 great-granddaughters, Maryn and Marit Childress; 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Cantebury Retirement Home, Encompass Home Health, Dr. Manish Shroff, Parkview Rehabilitation Center, Scenic Mountain Medical Center and Home Hospice.
