Bob Wooten, 69, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at his home after a lengthy illness with lung disease. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 20, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Eddie Klatt, Lannie Fischer, James Ross, David Farmer, Roy Haberman and Alex Iker. Honorary pallbearer will be Ray Sprague.Bob was born on November 16, 1937, in Big Spring, Texas to Morris and Mary Wooten. He married Janice Carr on December 21, 1958 in Midland.Bob has lived in the Midland community over 50 years, and worked for the City of Midland as a Captain in the fire department for 26 years.Survivors include his parents, Mary and Robert Brown of Hobbs, New Mexico; daughter, Sheri Higgins and her daughters, K'Nell and Robi Higgins and great granddaughters, Kodi Klipstine and Karsyn Higgins of Midland; son, Rick Wooten and wife, Stacy and sons, Colby and Gunner Wooten of Murphy; brother, Freddy Brown and wife, Judy of Big Spring; sister Debbie Caffey and husband Steve of Hobbs, New Mexico; sister, Judy Oliver and husband Ted of Hobbs, New Mexico; brother-in-law, Dale Carr and wife, Vicki of Midland; sister-in-law, Shelia Covington and husband Kyle of Nashville, Tennessee; many loved nephews and nieces; and many loving friends, including Jenny Tharp and Corrinne Gee.
