Miece - Daugher of Jody's left a message on July 26, 2011:
July 21, 1983 Jody came into my Moms life. I had Papaw for 28 years and he had taught me so many things. He treated Mom's 4 kids just like we were his. I am so thankful for the gospel knowing that we will see them again and Mom and Papaw are happy as can be. I Love Him So Much. My Brother took care of him at the end and did such a great job. I was the lucky one to be with him on his last Sunday and on his last two days of his life. I will never forget Papaw and always remember the wonderful times and memories we had. Love, Mary Kay

I got to know Jody through Marykay and her mom. I came to have a fond respect and admiration for the way he took her into his heart and became a father to her. He always had a smile on his face and was joyful. He lifted spirits and brought joy to a room. My heart goes out to the family at this time and we will keep you in our hearts and prayers. It is a comfort that through the knowledge of the Gospel you will be with Jody and your mom again. Lovingly, Deb Freed

To see true love all you had to do was sit in church or anywhere, and just watch for Jody & Shirley to come in. They always looked like young kids in love for their first time. I was Shirleys visiting teacher for many years and Jody was our home teacher. We learned so many things from them, but what I will remember most is their kindness and how much they loved our Heavenly Father. It's hard to talk about one with out the other. Jody will be missed very much. Even when he was sick himself Jody always had a smile on his face and a hug to give. They say..... "When someone you love becomes a memory, The memory becomes a Treasure" Jody was and is a true treasure. Your family will be in our prayers, Love Byron & Donna
