Billie Jean Lightner, 74, of Stanton, died on Friday, August 18, 2006, in a Stanton nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, August 20, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Stanton with Rev. David Harp, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. She was born to Henry and Dovie Pinkerton on September 3, 1931, in Throckmorton, Texas and married David Lightner on December 31, 1994 in Stanton, Texas. Billie Jean came to Martin County from Throckmorton with her family in 1937. She lived most of her life in Stanton. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was active in the Martin County Senior Citizens, and played in the Old Sorehead Band for a number of years. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, David Lightner of Stanton; son, Carlis Martin of Ballinger; daughter, Deborah Hagen of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; daughter, Margo Wolfe of Houston; son, Michael Rhea Lightner of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 3 grandsons, Charles Hagen and Bryan Hagen both of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Johnathan Rhea Lightner of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 2 brothers, Charlie Pinkerton and Orvil Kay Pinkerton both of Stanton; 1 sister, Mickey Lander of Stanton and numerous nieces & nephews.
