Bill Lively passed away peacefully in his home March 24, 2023. Bill was born October 9, 1930 to Dan and Kitty Lively in McCamey, Texas.
He graduated from Crane High School in 1949. His college education at University of Texas, El Paso was interrupted by the Korean War. He completed his service with an honorable discharge in 1953. He completed his college education in 1954.
February 15, 1953 he married Dorothy Ervin and together they had two daughters. He was preceded in death by Dorothy in November 1990.
Bill worked in the oil and gas industry well into his 80’s. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He often shared fishing stories and other wild tales with his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Masons, various Petroleum Landman Associations, and the National Rifle Association.
Bill is survived by daughter, Gina Smith and son-in-law, Randall from Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Janet Halfmann and son-in-law, Joel from San Angelo, TX. Bill is also survived by four grandchildren, Linsey, Micah, Sidnie and Stephen; seven great grandchildren, Bella, Riley, Madeline, MacKenzie, Althea, Caleb and Vada.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the kindness shown to our father during his illness. These people include Helen from Angel Care, Heidi and Jennifer from Visiting Angels, Home Hospice and Kayli his next door neighbor.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to an animal shelter or charity of your choice.
Honorary pallbearers, Linsey Floyd, Micah Floyd, Sidnie Mora and Stephen Smith.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Resthaven Memorial Park 4616 N. Big Spring Street Midland, Texas.
