Betty Thornton Conly

Betty Thornton Conly passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the age of 94. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Betty was born on July 24, 1926 to Katie and James R. Thornton in Denison, Texas. She moved to Midland in 1950, where she was a member of First Christian Church, Republican Women’s Club, Minuet Club, and countless other bridge clubs and volunteer organizations. But more importantly, she was a devoted mother and grandmother who gave selflessly to her family. Those that knew her will cherish many warm memories and the joy that she constantly brought to others. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Katie Potter, Thelma Lee Cartwright, and Jim Thornton. She is survived by her daughters Debbye Conly and Andye Conly; grandsons, Conly Gevecker and Cole Bryan; and grandchildren Ryder Gevecker, Rhett Gevecker, and Katie Bryan along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask donations be made to First Christian Church or Hospice of Midland.
