Barbara Lynn Williams, loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother, was surrounded by her family on Saturday evening, March 2nd, 2013, as she lost her battle with cancer, and was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus her savior. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 1:00PM at Westside Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. She was born November 18th, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas. Her father got a job at the Shell refinery, and moved the family to Odessa in 1958. In 1973, Barbara met her husband, Bob, and they were married the following year.Barbara was a humble and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. She was the secretary for the Christian family at Westside Church of Christ for the past 26 years, and an elders wife. She was also a bible class teacher for many years, and so dearly loved all of the children that she taught.3 children that held an extra special place in Barbara's heart were her three grandchildren: Kyle, Addison and Cailynn. She counted down the days until she could retire and move to San Marcos so she could be with them every day. One of the reasons Barbara chose her current house is because she always dreamed of having a home with the space to host bridal and baby showers and other activities for her Christian family.Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Bob Williams, daughter Aimee Williams of Midland, daughter Ashlee Wheeler, husband Jay and three grandchildren, Kyle, Addison and Cailynn Wheeler, all of San Marcos, one sister, Linda Brown and husband Glen of Midland, and one nephew, Casey Brown of Midland.She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Willie Mae Williams and a sister, Carolyn Williams.Her family would like to thank Helping Hands, Compass Hospice and Hospice House of Odessa for their physical care and assistance in her last months.
