Korean War veteran, BJ Rice passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in Carrollton, Texas. The 87 year old Father of five spent most of his life in the west Texas oil town of Midland.
BJ was born on March 12, 1934 in Coahoma, Texas to Homer E. Rice & Birdie Hull Rice. He served in the Korean War from December 10, 1952 until December 9, 1955. He loved to camp and fish with his favorite dog Beau. He was natural born musician that could sing any tune and play any instrument he picked up. He had perfect rhythm and loved to dance at the drop of a hat.
BJ is survived by his wife of 65 years, Essie Mae Rice, his sister Nina West, his five daughters: Ann Mays, Kathy Wells, Janette Thomas, Brenda Tipton & Dianna Rice. He has 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren to carry on in his memory.
Viewing will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 8:00am-9:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland. Graveside service will be held on Saturday May 15, 2021 at 11:00 am at Resthaven Cemetery.
