Arvil W. Henry, 79, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in San Angelo at SCCI Intensive Care Facility. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 12, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Jeff Janca, minister of Forsan Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. He was born on August 27, 1921 in White Flat, Texas and married Ollie Mae Coffey on July 16, 1943 in Melrose, New Mexico. Mr. Henry was raised in the Melrose and House, New Mexico area and came to Big Spring in 1953 from Ft. Sumner, New Mexico. He worked as a lineman for Texas Electric from 1954 until retiring in August of 1983. He was a Baptist, a member of Staked Plains Lodge #598, AF & AM, a 32 Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He served in the United States Army in Germany during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Ollie Mae Henry of Big Spring; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert Neal and Paula Henry and Arvil James Henry all of Big Spring; three sisters, Estella Alexander of Dallas, Edith Massey of Amarillo and Gene Terry of Clovis, New Mexico; one brother, Mutt Henry of Melrose, New Mexico; 5 grandchildren, Allen Lee Carlile of Hampton, Virginia, Michelle Dawn Rush and husband, Mike of Garland, Casey James Henry of Big Spring, Tessa Lyn Reid and husband, Jody of Coahoma, and Jason Neal Henry of Joshua; and 4 great grandchildren, Elizabeth Marie Briana Carlile of Hampton, Virginia, Alexandra Paige Duncan of Garland and Reagan Clay Reid and Ryan Robert Reid both of Coahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
