Anita Rodriguez, 86, of Big Lake, went to her eternal rest on Sunday, October 6, 2024. She will lie in state Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 4:30 pm until 9:00 pm, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring TX. Rosary service will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 11, 2024 at St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church in Big Lake TX. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery.
Anita was born April 3, 1938 in Rocksprings, Texas to parents Julia (Grimaldo) and Raymundo Rodriguez. She married Nieves H. Rodriguez October 1, 1956. Her legacy was her love, wisdom, and fortitude. She shared these gifts with her family, spouse, children, and friends throughout her life. She was a virtuous woman; as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, sister in law, cousin and a friend. Her faith in God, the grace of strength and courage she lived everyday to the very end when God finally took her to rest from her labor. Her perseverance in the Lord our God helped her grow in faith and endurance. She never liked to say Good-bye so instead she would say “until we meet again.” We will remember her in our hearts as the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in the name of Jesus Christ to comfort, guide and protect all her family and friends and all those she touched in her life.
Anita is survived by her children: Alberto Rodriguez (Bergonia), Nieves Rodriguez, Jr. (Maria), Julia Flores (Ruben); Grandchildren: Cindy Marmolejo (Manuel), Sarah Rodriguez (Abel), Christy Row (Joshua), Ruben James Flores (Gisselle Hernandez), Michelle Baines (Nicholas), Maria Jackson (Kervell), Jacob Umanzor (Jenny), and Rachel Marie Caldwell; 18 great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children: Infant Nieves, Baby Girl, and siblings: Francisco Rodriguez, Augustine Rodriguez and Juana Rodriguez.
