Anita Kathleen “Kathy” Brumit, 58, of Midland, Texas passed away on June 12, 2023 after a short illness. She was born on March 28, 1965 in Amarillo Texas to W.R. “Chick” and Loretta Duniven. Kathy was the middle child of five children. Kathy went to school most of her life in Midland, Texas.
After high school, Kathy worked various jobs then around 1987 moved to Galveston where she met the love of her life, Kenny Brumit. In 1988, they had their only child Kyle Brumit. In 1990, Kathy and Kenny moved back to Midland, Texas and in 1992 Kathy began selling Mary Kay and continued to do so until her death. She enjoyed working for Mary Kay, being with all the ladies and having her Mary Kay parties.
Kathy was involved with the Midland Police Department’s Citizens on Patrol (COPS) program for many, many years. She loved being part of the community and helping people. She was also an animal lover who helped rescue animals and find them loving homes. Kathy was a devout Christian and attended Kelview Heights Baptist Church. She absolutely lived by her values of love, kindness and faith. She was always working on her relationship with the Lord. Kathy touched the lives of her family and friends, she will be missed so very much.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Chick and Loretta Duniven, her brothers Roger Dale Duniven, Richard Lawrence Duniven and Danny Duniven. Kathy is survived by her husband Kenny Brumit, son Kyle Brumit, brother Bill Duniven, wife Pam, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
