Andrew Scott Prince, 53, of Big Spring, passed away Thursday, January 14 2021. He will lie in state Monday, January 25, 2021 from 8:30 am until 9:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. He will be buried with honors near his father at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
Scott was born January 2, 1968 in Maryland but spent part of his upbringing as a military child and traveled many places until they settled in Big Spring, Texas, where he graduated from Big Spring High school. After high school he joined the Army and served at Fort Drum in NY from 1986 to 1994 in active duty and the reserves. During that time he met Kristen Knuth of Hanover, New Hampshire and in 1991 they were married. Eventually they moved and settled to Plainfield, New Hampshire where they raised their two sons, Cameron and Colin.
Scott enjoyed spending time with his sons and was an active leader in his sons Boy Scout troop from 2005 to 2013. He returned to Big Spring in 2014 to care for his father.
He is survived by his children, Cameron and Colin; sister, Julie Ann Horton; three nieces, McKeinzie Horton, Jordon Horton and Hannah Horton; three nephews, Alex Horton, Chris Horton and Wealdon Horton and one brother Matthew Horton.
Scott was preceded by his mother, Judith, and father, Andrew.
