Andrew Garcia Lopez, 67, of Big Spring, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, March 12, 2022 in the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park.

Andrew was born July 29, 1954 in Abilene, Texas to Benito and Maria Lopez. Andrew married Drew Gilbert on January 6, 1983 in Big Spring, Texas.

Andrew grew up in Abilene before joining the U.S. Marine Corp. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years, retiring as the Big Spring Postmaster.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Drew Lopez; five children: James (Jessica) Lopez, Amy Lopez and Bill Hart, Lucas Lopez, Jennifer (Ryan) Sayles and Bryce Lopez. Andrew is also survived by eight siblings: Benito (Blaza) Lopez, Paula (David) Rodriguez, Rose Mary (Martin) Rodriguez, Ben (Rose Mary) Lopez, Paul (Sandra) Lopez, Manuel (Gloria) Lopez, Vincent Lopez and Silvestre Lopez. He also has seven grandchildren: Chemdayah, Nehkesyah and Maliyah Lopez, Dustin Lopez, Rhett, Elijah and Thatcher Sayles and two great grandchildren, Adaline and Leialani Phillips. He also had numerous nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

Andrew was preceded in death by his mother and father, Benito and Maria Lopez, his brother Jesse Lopez and his sister Ronnie Lopez.
