Andres Gamboa, 76, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, December 27, 2009, at his son's residence in Farmers Branch. Vigil services will be at 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 31, 2009 at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. He was born on October 16, 1933, in Big Spring, Texas. Mr. Gamboa served in the United States Army, where he played baseball, and had also played for the Big Spring Tigers, a semi-professional team. He worked as a machinist and also crafted dentures as a certified dental assistant, owning his own business, Gamboa Dental. He was a very loving and caring father and grandfather. He was a Catholic. Survivors include five sons, Frank Gamboa and wife, Angie of Dallas, Richard Gamboa of Forney, Andy Gamboa, Jr. of Fort Worth, Ruben Gamboa and David Gamboa both of Big Spring; three daughters, Grace Gamboa and husband, Rick Hernandez of Weatherford, Margie Gamboa and Sylvia Gamboa of San Antonio; one sister, Lucy Hernandez of Austin; one brother, Mike Gamboa of San Antonio; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
