Amberleigh's mom is my oldest Niece and she's special to me. So Amberleigh is too. I wasn't around Amberleigh when she was growing up but remember a reunion in Ruidoso, NM when Amberleigh was about 4 or 5 years old. My youngest (a daughter) Amy was a year older than Amberleigh and they bonded immediately. I remember talking to them at a stream where they were playing. Amberleigh had found an earthworm. She said I found a wo-ram in two syllables. It was so precious, I've never forgotten it. I hurt for Amberleigh's family, but know she's in a wonderful place now.

I only knew Amerleigh for a very short time ... too short. She found a place into my heart and I will truly miss her smile and personality. God works in mysterious ways and this is one I do not understand. Rest in peace, Amberleigh ... you were loved.

I had the pleasure of meeting her at the Suburban group in Odessa. I was her sponsor for a few months and in that time, we laughed a lot more than we cried. We attended many meetings together, both in the group and one on one time. Amberleigh was brutally honest about what was happening in her life and truly had a desire to be sober. She spoke of her family often and wasn’t shy about expressing her love for them. I am so very saddened by her loss and cannot even imagine the void this will be to her family. I am so grateful that God put her in my path and I will continue to keep the family in my prayers. Please know how much she loved you all.
