Almeda Tinslar, 92 of Midland, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 surrounded by her family. The family will receive guests from 5:00pm-7:00pm, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 12:00pm, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, with reception following at the Branch at npw.
Almeda was born on July 11, 1928 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Lula and Lee Moore. Almeda attended 17 schools while she moved with her parents in the oil field, before graduating from Kermit High School. She attended Hardin Simmons and then returned to Midland and worked in secretarial positions for oil and gas companies. She met William L. “Bill” Tinslar on a blind date and they married June 22, 1952. He preceded her in death in 2016.
They had two children, Cindy Tinslar Davis and William Craig Tinslar. While raising her family, Almeda served in many volunteer capacities. She was a pink lady at Midland Memorial Hospital, volunteered at Trinity Presbyterian Church, PTA, and Crisis Intervention Suicide Prevention. Later she spent many hours delivering meals for Meals on Wheels, volunteering at Allison Cancer Center, Midland Children’s Clinic where she served on the board. She enjoyed entertaining by her pool, playing bridge with friends, was active in Midland Women’s Club and served as an elder in her church home.
Almeda is survived by her daughter, Cindy Davis and husband Richard Davis of Houston; son, Craig Tinslar and wife Tanya Tinslar of Midland; four granddaughters, Jennifer Davis, Sarah Faulkenberry and husband John, Natalie Hodgdon and husband Andrew, and Melissa Johnson and husband Jay; and nine great grandchildren
The family would like to express gratitude to Cowden Cottage caregivers at Manor Park, Latrisha Satterwhite and Marta Mangia.

Pallbearers will be Craig Tinslar, Richard Davis, John Faulkenberry, Andrew Hodgdon, Jay Johnson and Rick Graham. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandgirls, Jennifer Davis, Sarah Faulkenberry, Natalie Hodgdon and Melissa Johnson.
