Clanton, Allan Ely, born on June 24, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 17, 2000. Ely suffered a heart attack on February 13, 1997, and remained in a semi-comatose condition with anoxia to the brain following his heart attack. Ely had been cared for at home by his wife and children. The Clantons are residents of Highland Village, Texas. Ely is survived by his constant companion, devoted and loving wife, Karla Susan Wadsworth Clanton of Highland Village; daughter, Ashley Sue Clanton Anderson (26) and grandson, Caleb Michael Anderson (4) of San Antonio; sons, Aaron Ely Clanton (25), Joshua Caleb Clanton (17) and Jacob Josiah Clanton (15) of Highland Village; father, Auldon Ely Clanton of Colorado City; mother, Mary Eugenia Jones of Big Spring and sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Robert Johnson of Big Spring. Ely was a graduate of Big Spring High School and Sul Ross University in Alpine. He was self-employed as a sign manufacturer prior to his heart attack in 1997. Karla and Ely were married on September 12, 1970. The Clantons had lived in San Antonio before moving to Highland Village in November of 1996.
