Alice L. Ewing, 84, of Big Spring, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Pastor Mark Smithson of Grace Fellowship Church of God officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
She was born December 22, 1936 in Fulton County, Indiana and married Richard L. Ewing July 7, 1955 in Richland Center, Indiana. He preceded her in death April 11, 1991.
Alice returned to Big Spring in 1976 after her husband retired from the Air Force. She worked for Dunlap’s, in the City of Big Spring Tax Department and Water Department, retiring in 1996. Alice was an avid bowler for many years, loved woodworking, gardening and especially doing things with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Reitzer and husband Leonard, and Teresa Woolverton all of Big Spring; three sons, Richard Ewing, Jr. and wife, Jennifer Morley of Sacramento, California, Roger Ewing and wife, Kathy of D’Iberville, Mississippi, and Donald Ewing and wife, Diane of Midland; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ken Linden and wife, Cyndia.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Tuley and Josephine Mutchler Tuley; her father, George Starr; an infant daughter, Deborah Ewing; and two brothers, Charles Tuley and Paul Gene Starr.
The family suggest memorials to the American Cancer Society or to a favorite charity.
