Alan John Russell was born on February 10, 1941, to Oscar Russell and Edna Krebbs Russell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He passed from this life to a heavenly one at 7:00 a.m. on October 3, 2023, after a yearlong illness.
Alan was a graduate of West Chester University and Georgetown University earning a degree in Chemistry. Alan moved to Corsicana, Texas in the 80s and worked in the Oilfield Industry there. He decided to move to East Texas where he was asked to join P-Chem, Inc as Lead Chemist. He worked for 30 years until it was sold to Weatherford. Alan worked as an Independent Contractor until 2014. Alan has over 45 years of experience in asphalt and oilfield chemical markets. He recently joined Oilfield Solutions, Inc. in a product development role. In 2010-2011 Alan served as President of the Lonestar Lions Eye Bank in Manor Texas. Alan enjoyed serving in the community of Palestine Texas and was District 1 Councilman for three consecutive terms. He also served on the Board of Directors in many capacities that related to the Public Library, Literacy Council, Meals on Wheels and at the Texas State Railroad writing skits, directing and acting in the Murder on the Disoriented Express theatre crew. Alan loved his wife, four boys and twelve grandkids. They loved him too and will
miss him until we meet again!
