Abel Quintana, went to join his parents in heaven on February 13th, 2021. Abel was known as an entrepreneur and inventor by all of those close to him. Just a few of Abel’s accomplishments included the famous Piccadilly at his Big Kahuna stand and PBPF (Permian Basin Parts and Facilitators) where he was able to successfully assist the oilfield industry. Abel also “invented” his own word, “humongous”. When asked, Abel said the word was derived from a school friends comic character, a fly with really big eyes.
Abel was born on June 16, 1971, in Van Horn, Texas to Sipriano and Maria Quintana. Despite the many obstacles and challenges he faced Abel had big dreams and never let anyone or anything stand in his way. Abel never met a stranger and because of his humongous heart he always extended a helping hand to those who were in need. Abel always found the time to check in on his friends and family.
Abel’s passing has affected so many lives. He will be missed by his family and the friends he had made along the way. Abel truly lived up to his invented word by serving others with his humongous heart.
Abel was loved by so many due to his loving and caring spirit. Even during his most dark and challenging times he was able to form lasting and meaningful friendships. Many of the Doctors, Nurses and Chaplains would go out of their way to make an extra pass by his room. Some even took the time to check on him after being discharged from Baylor and Midland Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Tejada, Dr. Gibbons, Nurses Judette, Dana and Charmaine and all of the other Medical Professionals who helped along the way, you have all of our love and our undying gratitude for the care you gave to Abel in his final moments.
Abel is survived by his wife of 21 years, Ginelle Quintana; sisters, Veronica Garcia and husband Juan, Velinda Castillo and husband Robert; brother, Anthony Quintana; nieces, Jasmine Perez and husband Brian, Victoria Garcia, Izabella Garcia, Abbigael Martinez, Samantha Martinez, Valerie Gabaldon; and nephew, Luis Quintana.
Abel is preceded in death by his parents.
Abel, this is not a goodbye but until we meet again.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
