Christopher Michael Hjalmer Setzler passed away in Midland, Texas on September 29, 2026.
He was born in Midland, Texas to Robert Eric and Vicki Lee Setzler on June 26, 1991. He started his life with a smile, and it was obvious he had the kindest heart from the day he was born. He followed his brothers everywhere and they became best friends. His first few years were in Artesia, New Mexico. At the age of 3 he was back in Midland and started school at Midland Christian, where he spent most of his school career. He then got an associate degree at Midland College and moved on to a bachelor’s degree in Art at UTPB.
He loved his trips with his cousins that took him many places during his summer vacations. He was kind, helpful and loving to everyone that knew him. He was an excellent painter and had so many wonderful ideas for his future. He hoped to be a counselor for people on Earth, but God had other plans. His passing was unexpected and his family has praised God for allowing him to be a big part of their lives. Chris was an amazing young man who is now with God, angels and Grandparents that all love him dearly.
He is survived by his dad, Eric Setzler, his mom Vicki Setzler, his brothers Benjamin Setzler and Zachary Setzler, the love of his life Maurine Tsiyeli. He also is survived by his Aunt Dixie, Uncle Allen and Uncle Michael as well as beloved nephews Austin and Donovan, as well as nieces, Mary, Cora Bella and Priya. He is also survived by an Aunt Nancy, cousins Dave, Tia, Ted and Cindy, as well as special cousins with whom he had great adventures as he grew up. He will be missed by us all.
A memorial service will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 3:00 pm.
