Iva Carol Pate

Iva Carol Pate (Mize) was born and raised in Big Spring, Texas. She spent her life caring for those around her. Carol was a nurse and graduated at the top of her class; she took great pride in her profession. Carol met Joey Pate, the love of her life, and the rest was history! They welcomed their daughter Joie-Marie and then their son Clayton. Their children brought such joy as they watched them grow and Carol made sure to be a part of all the activities her children were in. She loved being a mother and then later, a grandmother to Saydee, Abbee, Callan and Kamdyn. She loved her grandchildren very much and was so proud of all of them. Joey and Carol lived their life with adventure and laughter. You never saw one without the other and they always brought back stories of Carol that all will remember and laugh about in her memory. Carol planned her life around family. She was the sister to Brenda and Johnny, and the Aunt to Barachel, Jared, Justin and Jenna. She spoke fondly very often of her happiness in getting calls from her nieces and nephews. Her cousins Terri, Myron, Bubba, Thomas and Sundi were more like siblings to her and she would spend weeks getting ready for cousin camp and the 4th of July get together each year. Carol had a generous spirit and got such joy out of gift giving. She would very carefully select the best goodies and Joey would load all the bags and boxes up into the car for delivery! Carol was not only the smartest person in the room but also the best dressed. Her red nails and rainbow eyelashes were a must have at all times and her hat collection could not be beat! She received compliments on her style everywhere she went. Carol leaves behind many friends and loved ones and while all are not able to be listed, please know that you are acknowledged and played a role in the fulfillment of her life. Above all, Carol was a child of God and we gain comfort knowing that she rests in the arms of Jesus Christ. The sparkle, shine, glitz and glam of Carol will be impossible to replace and Carol will be deeply missed. When you eat a little sweet treat, send a hello to heaven in her honor.
