Bernice Mattie Weinkauf

Mattie Bernice Weinkauf, 92, of Midland, Texas, went to be with our Lord, Monday, March 16, 2026. Bernice was born April 22, 1933, in Forsan, TX. Her parents were Samuel Shirely Patton and Nancy Ann Ballard Patton.

Bernice married George Webster Weinkauf January 22, 1952. They shared 65 loving years together.

Bernice was a devoted Christian, mother, and homemaker. She had many talents. She worked on sewing machines, crocheted, sewed, gardening and loved fishing. She also loved to share the word of God with others.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, George Weinkauf; her seven siblings; daughter in law, LaNell Weinkauf; and granddaughter, Rhonda Green.

Survivors include her children, Gene Weinkauf of Kemp, TX, David Weinkauf of Corsicana, TX, Nancy Johnson and husband, Doby of Midland, TX, Kitta Dory and husband, Mike of San Angelo, TX; her grandchildren, David Weinkauf II, Dawn Hill, Gerenda Washburn, Levi Johnson, Chris Weinkuf, Brooke Weinkauf, Kristen Harris, Megan Dory May, Sharon Jenkins, Michael Watson and Steven Watson. She had many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Loving neighbors and friends, Rudy Ramos and wife Sharla, children Aubrey and Jacob Voss of San Angelo.

The memorial service will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Sierra Vista Methodist Church in 4522 College Hils Blvd. San Angelo, Texas. Interment will follow at Miles Cemetery in Miles, Texas.

The family would like to thank Midland Medical Lodge and Hospice Care of Midland for their loving care of our precious mom. Also, a special thank you to Camille Woodard of Hospice for your heartfelt prayer and hug.
