Armina C. Forest

Armina C.  Forest, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, surrounded by love. She was born on May 18, 1941, in Hays, Kansas, the sixth child of Sigmund and Armina Leiker.

Armina was a devoted and loving mother whose greatest joy was her family. She was deeply cherished by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and many friends who were blessed to know her. Her kindness, strength, faith, and quiet dedication to others left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She is survived by her daughter Arminae McDonald and husband Rod; her son Ron Forest Jr. and wife Corri; her grandchildren Bradley Ward, Brandon Ward, Caitlin Forest, and Reese Forest. She is also survived by her sister Martha Leiker; her “sister by friendship”, Terri Evans; and a large, loving extended family of 14 nieces and nephews and 46 great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Armina graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Colorado Springs and began her career as a medical secretary at Penrose Cancer Hospital. In 1967, she moved to Midland, Texas, where she continued her career in the medical field. At the time of her retirement, she was working as a surgery coordinator for Drs. Thurston and John Dean. Over the years, she also worked for the CIA, a role she carried with pride.

A woman of strong faith, Armina was an active member of St Ann’s Catholic Church, where she served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister and Coordinator for St Ann’s Catholic Youth. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister for St Stephen’s Catholic Church, bringing comfort and communion to residents in Midland nursing homes—an act of service close to her heart.

Armina was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, a member of the Northside Lions Club, the Cancer Society of the Young & Breastless, and the Red Hat Society. In her younger years, she found joy and fellowship through several bowling leagues. No matter the organization, she gave her time generously and formed meaningful, lifelong friendships.

The family would like to extend its gratitude to Gentiva Hospice staff members, especially Cindy and Michelle for the care and keeping of Armina.

Above all else, Armina will be remembered as a great mother, a woman of faith, and a steady, loving presence whose life was marked by service, compassion, and devotion to family. Her legacy lives on through those she loved and the countless lives she touched.

Pallbearers will be Ron Forest Jr., Rod McDonald, Bradley Ward, Brandon Ward, Caitlin Forest, Zach Wilson, Reese Forest and Brianna Forest.
