Bobbie Jean “Mimi” Burchett, 94, of Big Spring, Texas, died Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Big Spring.
She was born May 2, 1931, in Martin County, and married Willis Burchett on May 1, 1949, in Stanton, Texas.
Bobbie graduated from Stanton High School in 1948 and remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life. A devoted and lifelong member of the Church of Christ, she lived her faith embodying kindness and service.
She was also known as the most dedicated Steer fan around—never missing an opportunity to cheer on her grandchildren and celebrate their accomplishments, both on and off the field. Mimi and Pop never missed a game, sometimes splitting time between grandchildren. She kept stats for all the events and saved every single one. Her pride in her family was unmistakable and endlessly felt.
Mimi spent 55 years working at Harris Lumber and Hardware, where she became a familiar face to generations of customers. After retiring, she continued to devote herself wholeheartedly to her family, offering unwavering support to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her two children, Bill and wife, Vanessa Burchett, and Vicki Broadrick. Her grandchildren are Brien and Keri Burchett; Jennifer and Lars Melodia; Sterling and Jeff Clark, Braden Burchett, Jeremy Cullins and Brantz Burchett. Her great-grandchildren are Brylee and Bree Burchett, Beck and Elan Melodia, and Ellis and Major Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Sallie White, of Stanton; and siblings, Marie White, Lily Mae White, Lloyd Lee White, William Howell “Red” White, Stanton Alexander White, Johnnie Ruth Kemper, Leonard Jay White, and Mary Elizabeth Birks.
Our family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Parkview Care and Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care, kindness, and love provided to our Mimi and Pop over the past eight years. We are deeply grateful for the support and compassion shown to them and to us.
