Floy Ausbon Poe, 82, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024 in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his only son Christopher at his side. He is finally able to re-join his late wife Margie, who has been waiting on him.
He was born January 11, 1942 in Breckenridge, Texas to Floyce Poe and Annac Lowrance and was one of 3 children: Marlene, Floy, and Shyrel.
Floy and Margie (Barnett) were married July 5, 1961 in Odessa, Texas where they raised their only son, Christopher.
Floy worked for several years as a salesman for a local radio station (KOZA), then later as an oilfield salesman. He had very fond memories of his time working at the radio station such as when he received tickets to take Margie to see Elvis Presley. He was also a fan of country music, loved football, enjoyed wood-working, and was a huge animal lover.
Floy and Margie moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2019 to be near their son, Christopher. Margie passed away before him in 2021 – they had been married for 60 years.
Floy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Meghann of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his two sisters, Marlene and Shyrel; and two grand-pups, Millie and Nibblett.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel.
