Emily Denise Gully was born on June 17, 1977 to Vivian Gail Aukerman and Scott Aukerman in Troy, Ohio.
She graduated from Krum high school class of 1995, with advanced academic and honor, and from Kaplan University with a Bachelor’s of Science in business management.
Emily was the land ninja, anything oil and gas she was your person. There was never a time that you called with a question, that she didn’t either already have the answer, or was able to get it to you in a matter of minutes.
Always enjoying the simple things in life, Emily was an avid hunter, loved shooting sporting clays, listening to Texas country music, NASCAR, barbecuing, visiting with her mom and her favorite Ohio State Buckeyes Football, second only to cooking with her boys Dylan and Randall, who were her everything.
If you were fortunate enough to know her, you knew she had a heart of gold. She is the person who would drop anything day or night to help. As a hard-working single mother, she was humble, loyal and would give you the shirt off her back, no questions asked. Her boys meant the world to her and she was their biggest fan. Within minutes of meeting her, you would know how proud she was of them. There was never a time when Emily wasn’t talking about her boys, what they were up to, or where they were going together on their next adventure. It was never a surprise if they decided to pack up and road trip it to the nearest Cody Johnson show, or whoever the boys loved listening to at that time.
Every kid that met Emily loved her and she loved them. She was the one who would get down on their level to play, never turned down any kind of swimming pool games, and, on occasion, would let a scuffle break out, just to see if the girls were tougher than the boys. Auntie Em was loved immeasurably by Holland, Kimble and Lille, and she loved them back, just as much.
Emily was preceded in death by her grandparents. Emily is survived by her sons, Dylan and Randall Gully, her mother Vivian Gail Aukerman, her father Scott Aukerman (Mary), sister Melissa Otterstad and brother Michael (Jayme) Aukerman, and more friends than she could count, that will miss her more than she will ever know.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the GoFundMe set up for Dylan and Randall’s benefit.
This world will never be the same without her bright shining light.
