Dora Castillon Castillo

Dora “Isidora” Castillon Castillo, 84, Midland, Texas, went home to be with our Lord and Savior August 27, 2022. She was born October 29, 1937, to Querino Castillon and Adela Davila Tarango of Midland, TX. Dora is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose M. Castillo, of 60 years, and daughter Janie Valdez. She was a woman of ambition and a dreamer who made dreams come true. A hard worker from an early age, and a proud co-owner with our Dad, they operated the famous Dora’s Drive Inn in Midland. She was a grand supporter of the Democratic Party and an active advocate. She loved sewing and gardening. Our Mama was a fighter to the very end, yet Christ shined through her in all things. She kept the faith.

Survivors include one son, Joe Castillo Jr., and his wife Kathy and three daughters: Rosa Sotelo and husband Pete, Carol Subia and husband Rudy; Tina De La Rosa and husband Marcos, all of Midland; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She will lie in-state Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 9:00am to 9:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
