I knew Wendel best back in the 80's when we were both involved in a few drilling deals. After moving from Midland regretfully I lost touch with him. He was someone that I liked very much and admired even more. I am saddened to hear of his battle with cancer and passing. Wish we had spent more time together. An outstanding and memorable man. Rest in peace Wendel. Prayers of peace for your family.

For the last 66 years I have known and been friends with Wendel . He was an easy man to be friends with because you always knew where he stood. He was a man with integrity and great charactor. He also was very stubborn. He said if in a situation where you don't know what to do: "just do the right thing". Wendel will be missed by many, I among them. My thoughts and feelings to all his Family and friends. I have lost a great friend

My heart hurts today receiving the news I dreaded to hear. Our friendship harks back to HCJC years - youth, fun, life in front of us. We were lucky to pick up that friendship later in life and keep in touch with each other. I already miss messaging at odd times of day or night. Rest In Peace, my friend.

Many memories as Wendell lived with my family for a short period of time. My 2 older brothers were friends with him and his brother, Ronald Paul. I considered both of them as just 2 more brothers, as I already had 5 brothers. He was handsome, smart and rebellious. However, he was very respectful of both my Mother and Daddy or they would not have allowed him to live with us. He and my brother, Gary, were in the FFA and totally took care of all their animals. Wendell had Sheep and maybe a cow or two. I’m sorry I never got to see him after he graduated from high school. Good memories. ❤️

I was very blessed to be a part of Wendels life the last 4 months. He was my favorite patient, he just grabbed a hold of my heart. I knew this stubborn man would go out on his own terms and he definitely did just that. Thank you for your service my friend. Love always! You were an amazing man!
