Corey Alton Prichard, 45, of Midland, Texas went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Corey came into this world the first born son of Ron and Reba Prichard on August 12, 1976 in Odessa, Texas. Corey spent the early years of his childhood in Odessa but at the age of three started with a sequence of several family moves due to the boom and bust cycles of West Texas.  One such move landed the family in Colorado, a place Corey would grow to love throughout his life.  After several more stops in Colorado, New Mexico, and then back to Odessa which would become home to Corey.  The family would move to Fort Worth Corey’s 9^th grade year where Corey would attend Richland High School.  Corey continued to pursue his passion for baseball during his high school years, but upon graduation from high school, Corey immediately packed up and headed back to friends and family in Odessa. Corey continued his education at Odessa College and later at Texas Tech in Business and Finance. While at Tech Corey met his future bride Kalei in early 2000. Corey and Kalei were married in 2002.

Corey and Kalei had their first child, a daughter, Avery Anne, when Corey was 27, and their son Colby Anthon in 2005.  From T ball, Little league, cheerleading, dancing, and all things in between, his children are the love of his life.

Corey grew up in a family with the grit and work ethic of what West Texas is all about and carried that example throughout high school and into his professional life as well.  Right out of college Corey began working in the plumbing department of Meek Refrigeration as a helper and quickly worked his way into a management role and ultimately the President of Meek Refrigeration at the age of 24.

Recognition of Corey’s knowledge, skills, passion, and pursuit of excellence led to Corey accepting critical roles within the Reliant Holdings Organization.  Corey was Division Manager over all of the Reliant Dry Ice entities as well as a crucial part of the executive management team as the Executive Vice President of Business Development.  In the course of these roles, Corey developed many relationships with his co-workers, customers, and suppliers that go well beyond the business side of life and they are truly friends and family.

Corey had a passion for Texas Tech, especially baseball and you would usually find him and Colby at Dan Law field at the start of the baseball season and occasionally chasing them to Omaha.  Corey loved the outdoors from trout fishing in the San Juan, Mule deer hunting on a lifetime draw in Southeast Colorado, or pheasant hunting in South Dakota. He loved being in the outdoors with friends and family.   Corey could be found often in the pursuit of the quieter things in life and was most happy on a secluded trout stream or a high mountain meadow.  Corey was an avid reader, his bookshelves are full of books ranging from Texas history, fiction, to the latest executive coaching or development books.  Corey loved Texas music, especially Willy.  He was a huge fan of Lonesome Dove, where he found some solace in the life portrayed and spoken words by Gus and Cal. He even named his dog Deets.

Corey is survived by his wife, Kalei Prichard, and children Avery, Colby, and very special family friend Morgan Self, all of Midland, Texas, parents, Ron and Reba Prichard, of Odessa, Texas, and brother Carl Prichard, his wife Liz and daughter, Mackey of Houston, Texas.

Corey is preceded in death by Grandparents Jack and Radie Prichard and JR and June Watkins.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Branch at npw.  A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 30^th, at 11:00am at Mid-Cities Church.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
