Nathaniel Green

Nathaniel Green, 80, was born on April 24, 1941 to Walter and Sallie B. Green. He went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2022 surrounded by his children. He married Anna White on May 24, 1965 that union brought three beautiful children; although their union dissolved they continued to love and support their children.

He was a member of Baker’s Chapel A.M.E. Church where he served for many years. December of 2012, he rededicated his life to Christ. He attended Lakeview School. He worked at Hall-Bennett Hospital over 25 years, Herman’s as a Chef, the country Club for many years, served as the President of the Lion’s Club, and recently retired from Wal-Mart after over 25 years. He was very loving to everyone he met. He was known by many as, Dad, Papa, Bubba, & Uncle Nae and provided much wisdom to many that will stick with you for a lifetime. He had many saying just to name a few; “Rome wasn’t built in a day”, “It’s more than one way to skin a cat”, “When the eagle fly”, and “If the creek don’t rise”.

He leaves to cherish his memory his two children: one daughter: Tammi Wilson (Earnest) of Midlothian, TX; one son: Anthony Green Smith (Ester) of Big Spring, TX; three granddaughters: LeAndra Cross (K.C.), LaKenya Bills and LaCyndra Lee (Wayne Jr.); three grandsons: DeUntrey Parker (Tiffeny), Delvin Wilson (Erica) and Brian McGee; seven great grandchildren: Kavon Cross, Khmani Cross, Wayne Lee III, Isaiah Lee, DeUntrey Parker Jr, Alexis Parker and Everett Bills, III. Three bonus grandsons: Ernest Jr (Selina), Joshua Wilson and Jorrion Wilson (Destini) and one bonus granddaughter Tenisha Babalola (Samson); seven bonus great grandchildren; one sister: Pearly Crawford (Leon) of Yukon, Oklahoma; one brother: El Roy Green (Debra) of Round Rock, TX; sister-in-law: Joann Green of Harker Heights, TX; brother-in-love: Lonnie Ray Ransome of Big Spring, TX along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter, and Sallie B. Green; one daughter: Laura Renee McGee; four brothers: Eugene Moten, Jr.; Johnny Green; Leon Moten, Robert Green; and two sisters: Ella-Louise Green and Willie L. Green.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring, TX. Funeral services will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 2:00PM.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory of Big Spring. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com
