Gloria “Nana” Galvan, 75 of Midland, Texas went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 24, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at University Medical Center, Lubbock, TX. She resided in Midland, TX for over 70 years. She was an active member of Presence Church in Midland, TX. Viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Gloria’s life exhibited love, kindness, joy, and goodness. She was faithful to her Lord & Savior. The spirit of the Lord and God’s grace shined through her. We lost our prayer warrior but we know God has big plans for her.
She was born on December 18, 1946 in Orland, California to the late Secondino and Erlinda Perez. Gloria attended MISD and graduated from Midland High School. She was a dedicated employee for the Midland Reporter Telegram, the Hearst Co. for over 30 years.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Jimmy Chavez and Joe Chavez and sisters Eloisa Martinez and Enedina Villa. Gloria is survived by her loving husband, of 51 years, Gregorio Galvan Sr, her sons Gregorio Galvan Jr, (wife Eloisa), and David Galvan, (wife Wendy), and daughter Amanda Galvan, (fiancé Jonathan Robledo), and 7 grandchildren; Madison Galvan, Cade Galvan, Amadis Padilla, Peyten Laster, Penelope Galvan, Luke Galvan, Brody Laster. Gloria’s brothers, Lupe Perez, Luis Perez and her sisters Elisa Zarate and Frances Ramos, and many nieces, nephews and friends living throughout the U.S.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the staff at UMC, Lubbock, TX for the care they gave to their mother. Thank you to all of our friends and family that have continued to pray for Gloria and our family.
