Gabriel “Gabe” Kurtis Gonzales

Gabriel Kurtis Gonzales was born on August 29, 1985 in Trinidad, Colorado. He attended Aguilar High School where he played on the football, basketball, and baseball teams. He married the love of his life, Tamara Pattison, on July 8, 2006 in Gulnare, Colorado. Their lives changed for the better on November 4, 2007 when their first born daughter, Madison Shae was born. Their family moved to Midland, Texas in 2012 where Gabriel was a longtime employee for Pioneer and Propetro. Then, on August 3, 2012, their youngest daughter, Ashtyn Danae was born and completed their family.

Gabriel was a wonderful husband, father, and friend to many. He was hard-working, selfless, brave, strong, kind, and full of genuine love. We can all remember Gabe for his incredible personality. He was always the life of the party and his jokes never ceased to make the whole room laugh. He loved hunting, fishing, and watching sports… especially when it came to the Steelers and Alabama football. Traveling with his family was another thing Gabe always enjoyed doing. His love of the beach and ocean was often incorporated into their travel plans. Going to watch all of his daughters’ games and concerts was always very important to him. While Gabe loved doing so many things, there was nothing he loved more than his wife, his girls, and his family.

Gabriel’s life came to an end at the age of 36 on December 6, 2021 at 9:42 AM in Midland, Texas after a hard fought battle. In this time of sadness, it is important that we all come together in love and reminisce on the great memories and happy times, as we all know that’s what Gabe would have wanted.

Gabriel is survived by his wife; Tamara Gonzales, his daughters; Madison Gonzales and Ashtyn Gonzales, his parents; Donald and Charleen Gonzales, his mother; Raeney (Irene) Ortiz, Jim Zemla, his siblings; Thomas Gonzales, Belinda Escalante, April Gonzales, Charles Padilla (Diana), Robert (Luke) Padilla, his grandparents; Anita and Jon Boyer, Ida and Luis Gallegos, and numerous other family members and friends.

Gabriel is preceded in death by his grandfathers; Robert (Bob) Larsen and Ben Ortiz and numerous other extended family members.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 7:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10am at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Celebration of Life is pending in Colorado.
