Carolyn Gean (Glanton) Wood

Carolyn Gean (Glanton) Wood, age 87, of Midland, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021. A family service will be held in Barstow, TX at a later date.

Carolyn Wood was born April 25, 1934 in Hobbs, NM, to Beatrice Dinwiddie Glanton and Fred Glanton. Carolyn graduated from Monahans High School in 1952. She married Samuel Thomas Wood on July 3, 1952 in Hobbs, NM. She was a member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Midland, TX.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 69 years, Sam Wood, daughters Karen Wood Jones and husband Tom of Mobeetie, TX and Melanie Wood Burkett and husband Craig of Midland, TX. She is also survived by granddaughters Sami Jones of Amarillo, TX, Erin Jones Walker and husband Matt of Marble Falls, TX, and grandson Zach Harrison and wife Mallory of Midland, TX.  Carolyn is survived by six great grandchildren Thomas and Tori Halterman, Albany and Jackson Walker, and Wesson and Rowan Harrison.

The family would like to thank Carolyn’s doctors and the nursing staff at Midland Memorial Hospital and Interim Healthcare Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Midland or a charity of choice.
