Susan Claire Scott Reeves passed from this life on August 31, 2021 at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas. Susan was born on April 23, 1954 in Dublin, Texas to Dr. and Mrs. Verne A. Scott, Jr.
She attended school in Dublin until her family moved to Stephenville, Texas in 1961. Her bright and cheerful disposition made her welcome wherever she went and she enjoyed a wide circle of friends. Susan’s character could be summed up in four words: Faith, Family, Friends, and Love. She became a Christian and was baptized at an early age; attending First Baptist Church of Stephenville with her family. For the remainder of her life she was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Midland, Texas.
After graduation from Stephenville High School in 1973, Susan attended Tarleton State University where she was an active member of DST and continued to be involved for the remainder of her life. She transferred to Texas A & M University on the behest of her mother “to go for the summer and don’t worry about her grades”; after her fun she completed her education graduating with a Bachelors of Elementary Education in 1978. This is where she met the Love of her life and best friend, James Michael “Mike” Reeves. He asked her to marry him after only 10 days! She said yes, and on March 11, 1978 they began their life as a family, adding to their union three children: Rachael, Nathan, and Hanna.
During their marriage Susan and Mike made their home in Midland and Flower Mound, Texas and in Edmond, Oklahoma returning to Midland, Texas where they resided until the time of her death.
Susan is survived by her husband, Mike Reeves of Midland, Texas, children: Rachael Boaz of Cedar Park, Texas, Nathan Reeves and his partner Emily Cloninger of Midland, Texas, and Hanna Hoffman and her husband Michael of College Station, Texas; two granddaughters Charlotte Boaz, Eva Hoffman; a step-granddaughter Erin Spaulding her husband, Benson of Midland, Texas and their 3 children all of whom Susan adored beyond measure; and her beloved brother Bob Scott of Grand Lake, Colorado. Preceding Susan in death were her parents Dr. Verne A Scott, Jr. and Eva Jo Flynt Scott.
