Joshua Rene Salcido, 15 years old went to be with our Lord July 31, 2021. Joshua was born on June 3, 2006 in Midland, Texas to Diana Madrid and Leroy Salcido. Joshua was a caring, loving and amazing son, brother and friend to many. Josh’s personality was larger than life. He lived life to the fullest with a contagious smile, laugh and silliness that instantly brightened up your day. Josh loved playing sports such as baseball, football, basketball and he loved to swim. He was a constant competitor, loyal teammate and personal hypeman. Joshua’s legacy will live forever through his brothers, parents, family and countless friends.

He is survived by his father, Leroy Salcido (Cindy); mother, Diana Madrid-Torres (Mark); brothers, John Michael Santillan and Joel Madrid Santillan; grandparents, Mike and Rita Madrid; Humberto and Fabiola Salcido.

Pallbearers include his brothers, John Michael and Joel; Hector Salcido Jr.; Humberto “Tito” Salcido III; Miguel Hernandez; Izack Villasenor; Ayden Torres and honorary pallbearer Noah Castro.

The family will receive friends for viewing and visitation Friday, August 6, 2021 from 9 am to 8:30 pm with a rosary beginning at 7 pm at El Gran Marquez. A funeral mass will be held at 11 am, Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe and internment to follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens.

I had the privilege of teaching Josh in 2015 at St. Ann's for CCD. He was one of my favorite students. I remember him well. He stood out. He was kind, always participated & so so very funny. He was definitely a cool little guy. The picture I attached says it all. He made me laugh every Sunday in class. His spirit will live on. I'll never forget him. My heart hurts for the family.
