Albert Diaz Resendez, 77, of Big Spring, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021. He was born in Stamford, Texas on April 7,1944 to parents Pedro V. Resendez and Maria Diaz Resendez. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Saturday, August 7,2021 at St Michael’s Catholic Church, Ralls, TX. Interment to follow at the Ralls Cemetery.
Albert graduated from Ralls High School in 1963. He served in the US Army and was recognized by his superior officer for outstanding performance of duties, devotion to duty and excellent interpersonal relationships. He retired from the VA Medical Center in Big Spring. Throughout his life, Albert played his guitar every day. He wrote numerous songs and poems, at least one of which was published. His greatest desire was to have Los Lonely Boys record one of his songs.
He is survived by his daughters: Dr. Cynthia and husband Matt Jaird of Lake Dallas, TX, Michelle and husband Jason Rivas of Dallas, TX; granddaughters: Gabi Jaird and Julia Rivas, grandsons: Zeke Jaird and Justin Rivas; sisters: Mercedes and husband Robert Diaz of Ralls, TX, Margaret Cervantes of Big Spring, TX, Maryann and husband Cullen Davis of Arlington, TX; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Macario and Felix Resendez; brother-in-law Manuel Cervantes Jr and nephew Robert Anthony Diaz.
