There are only a few people whose enthusiasm for life affects all of those around them. When we were in jr high, Randy and his family did. From “slo-mo football” with him, trying to tackle Bobby, to sitting and replaying a record over and over to learn the lyrics - “Magic Carpet Ride”. I have great memories of singing those lyrics as a “rap” to both of my daughters, thanks to those days. Randy was a person who gave generously of himself. Always. My love to him and his family.

Winnie ... I worked with you 45 years ago at Southwestern Bell and I will always remember the smile that you had and the sparkle in your eyes when you talked about Rusty and that baseball team. I am so terribly sorry for your loss and pray that you find solace in knowing he is at peace.

Randy and I were introduced to each other through athletics beginning at Midland Freshman High School and continued through high school. We had the opportunity to get to know each other away from sports. I found in having conversations with Randy that he was a better person than he was an athlete. If you knew Randy you know that he was a very good athlete . What I remember that stood out to me once I really got to know him away from football was that he was always talking positive and trying to evolve into being a better person. He left his mark on those who knew him and he will always be remembered for being a positive influence . Rest in peace my friend
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Randy was one of our clients at Island Tans for years. He is one of the nicest individuals, always with smile and a kind word. He made this world a better place and will be missed.

Dear Winnie, Rusty and Bob, I just found out tonight that Randy’s service is tomorrow, too soon to send flowers. Stevie and I at least wanted to express our sadness and sympathies at Randy’s passing. He always had a big smile, a warm handshake and a kind word to share. Even though we rarely saw him we will miss him. Love, Steve and Stevie Hartman

I was so saddened to see that Randy had passed. We shared the same birthday and the same chemistry class at MHS. He was a terrific guy and a great pitcher! Love and condolences to his family.

Randy was my friend and HS teammate and he was great at both. He was one of the rare people that was equally gifted as a great athlete and a good person. On the athletic field he was a leader and a tremendous competitor. Even as a larger than life figure at MHS he was humble and treated others with respect and kindness. The baseball paths of our sons had reconnected us over the past few years and I’m thankful for that. Randy was universally well liked and he will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to his son Randall. We lost one of the good ones but the memories will be with us forever.
