Jane Carolyn Wolf

Jane Carolyn Wolf, of Midland, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2021, at the age of 98 after a 5 year struggle with Alzheimers.

Jane was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 19, 1922, to John Cornelius Fervoy and Venus Irene (Glad) Fervoy. After graduating from Marquette Catholic HighSchool in Tulsa, she continued on to receive a BBA from Oklahoma State University. While at OSU, she met and would later marry George Louis Wolf on March 10, 1945. They lived in St. Louis where their four children were born, and in 1959, they moved to Midland for the architecture that George got. The home they purchased then would be their home for remainder of both their lives. They became lifelong members of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, and all the children graduated from St. Ann’s School. She was an active member of the St. Ann’s Mother’s Club and served as its President for a year. She and George served as chairman for the St. Ann’s Family Fair and worked with the Fair for decades.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Sears and later for Lone Star Abstract and Title for many years. Among her many interests was photography, which she turned into a business, taking Midland Little League team photos for many years. She also taught Mae Carden Method Preschool and Kindergarten programs in her home. She believed reading was a key to any path in life. Organic fresh foods became a staple in her home. From fresh milk purchased at the dairy south of Midland, to organically grown wheat which she ground as needed for fresh whole wheat bread weekly. She would continue her interest in health the rest of her life. At 78, several years after the passing of her husband of 53 years,  she took up the drums and would take lessons for seven years. She became quite accomplished, and had the most varied collection of CD’s she liked to play with. Her grand and great children thought that was so wonderful that Grandma played drums. In her late 80’s she started baking the family recipe for Yum-Yum cakes, which had been given for years as treasured Christmas gifts. She sold them at the Farmers market every summer until she was into her 90’s.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Jack and Irene, husband, George, only son, John Wolf, sister, Jackie Ingram and her husband, Thomas P. Ingram.

Jane is survived by daughters, Barbara Jane Clarke (Steven) of Midland,  Carolyn Ann Copeland (Terry) of Midland, Suzanne Marie McGuinness (Tim) of Canyon Lake, daughter-in-law, Audrey Ellen Wolf of Midland, and nieces, Diane Field and Sharon Dwyer, and nephew, Donald Wharton, all of St.Louis, Missouri.

She also has eight grandchildren, Russell Clarke(Jessica) of Midland, Scott Clarke (Ashley)of Tomball, Amanda Fralin (Brian) of Midland, Angela Wallace (Dustin) of Lubbock, David Recknagel (Jaime) of La Vernia, Sarah Leggett (David) of San Antonio, Christopher Copeland (Krystal) of San Antonio, and  Laura Jones (J. Sam) of Houston. Also surviving her are 17 great grandchildren:  Skylar, Ashlynn, McKenzie, Caleb, Jack, Luke, Reese, Tavion, Chase, Lana Jane, Reed, Trevor, Weston, Landon, J. Copeland, Dean, Cora, and one on the way!

Rosary service will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday, May 5^th, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Chapel. The funeral mass will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church at 12, noon, on Thursday, May 6^th, with Msgr. Larry J. Droll presiding. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be David Recknagel, Russell Clarke, Scott Clarke, Christopher Copeland, Brian Fralin, Dustin Wallace, and J. Sam Jones.

A heartfelt thank you goes the wonderful ladies that took such good care of her, especially, Lynda Lutsi, Norma Ramos, Maria Lupe Prieto, Angie Estrada, Maria Torres, Peggy Lopez, and Nicole Hicks. The family would like to also thank Visiting Angels, Angels Care Home Health, and Hospice of Midland. Without the care of these ladies and organizations, it would not have been possible for Jane to stay in her home.
