Lovie Joanne Robertson of Midland, TX passed away on Monday, February 15. Services will be at 2 PM on Saturday, February 27 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch in Midland.
(Lovie) Joanne Robertson was born on April 5th, 1930 in Clifton, Texas to Jesse George and Eva Fincher. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, where she was Beta Sigma Phi Girl of the Year. She married George Lewis Robertson in 1949 and they lived in California while he was in the Marine Corps. Later they moved to Fort Worth where he worked for Gulf Oil. They came to Midland where she gave birth to a son, George Galloway Robertson in 1963. She was a Merit teacher in MISD until her retirement in 1984. Her hobbies included Oil Painting and a number of crafts. She never made fewer than 100 of anything. She was a member of First United Methodist Church until about 2012, when she Joined the Kelview Heights Baptist Church congregation. She has been active in Midland Community Theatre, the local Republican Women, and the DeMolay Mother’s club, among many other interests. She was doted on by her Son, Daughter in Law, Beverly Robertson, and Chihuahua, Sandy. Joanne is survived by her son, George Galloway Robertson.
